Just so I'm clear... I assume that an entrant's credit card is charged at the moment they submit their order to PayPal, correct?

How are cancellations handled?

If the entrant cancels online, do they get a refund then, or do they have to get it from the club?

What about the service fee? Is that returned to the customer?

Thanks!

That is correct.

Cancellations and refunds are handled by the hosting organization and not directly by MyAutoEvents.com. Since every club has their own unique cancelation and refund policies, MyAutoEvents.com can not process a refund on the behalf of a club.

The entrant's credit card will still be charged for the entry fee (if that is the mechanism used for payment). It is up to the hosting organization to issue a refund (most likely by check, or a credit towards a future event) if one is due.

When someone who has prepaid contacts the event registrar indicating that they will not be attending the event, the registrar should change the Assigned Class to "Canceled" (or "Due Refund" or some other chosen identifier) so that the disbursement report issued following the event shows which entries are due refund/credit. The registrar can then issue a check or add a manual entry for the next event depending on your club's policy.

The payment processing fee applies to all payments processed.

Online cancelations are only available to entrants that did not pay online. In that case the entry is simply deleted.

MyAutoEvents entry cancellation functionality has changed slightly since the date this thread was started and the response above has been superceded by new capabilities.
