We have an event in Septmber which is going on it's 14th year I believe called the PA State Championships. This event which used to be a 2 day event until we lost our big lot was one of our biggest events.

Then we had to resort to 1 day events around 2002. Then in 2005 we were able to run on the same lot, but the cost of the lot was a bit much to run 2 days.

This year the board approved us running a 2 day event to see how it goes. They want to charge $70 for both days, but also run it as a series point event in which a competitor can show up Saturday OR Sunday (don't have to run both days, since it will not fit some people's schedule). Those competitors would pay $35/day.

How would I go about setting this up and not get duplicate numbers? Some people want to register for 1 day, some would do both days.

Thanks!
Mike

Two different ways to do it that jump to mind...

1. List each day as a seperate event. People who wish to register for both days register for both events. People who whish to register for just one of the days register just for that one. You will end up with a seperate entry file to use for each day's competition. This is probably the easiest way to do it from an administrative/intuitive-to-the-entrant perspective, but with the disadvantage of two event listing fees (if you don't collect entry fees online or if you collect them directly to your own PayPal account) and two events to manage/maintain.

2. List it as one event, but alter your payment options to indicate which day/days the entrant is registering for...

Sat ONLY - $35
Sun ONLY - $35
Sat AND Sun - $70
Sat ONLY - $0 (Pay $35 at event or mail entry fee)
Sun ONLY - $0 (Pay $35 at event or mail entry fee)
Sat AND Sun - $0 (Pay $70 at event or mail entry fee)

If you aren't collecting entry fees online, then you can simply use one of the "Additional Fields" to capture the days they plan to be there (Sat/Sun/SatandSun).

Doing it this way you'll have only one entry download file for both days which will be bloated with all entrants, but you can do a sort on the Excel file to identify the qty of participants for each day's event. Advantage: only one event listing charge, only one event to manage/maintain.

Can you delete our event #6 found here:

I'm going to go with your option #2.

Consolidate both days into one. And have a record of everyone for the whole weekend.
