Is there a way to set up restricted entry events?

Restricted to what/whom/in what way?

If you already know who the entries would be, why would you need those folks to register? Wink

We're running a pursuit event for which we're requiring a certain level of prior participation. We know the invite list...we don't know how many will be able to make it. We'd like to use the registration system to allow pre-payment, and because we use the regsitration file to populate the timing and scoring database.

If we simply post the event, we'll end up having to eliminate random entrants who don't read the event annoucement (and issue lots of event credits in the process -- more work for me). If we manually generate a list of potential entrants, we lose the ability for them to pre-pay (more work for the on-site registration guys).

People post "restricted" events on MAE all the time, however there is no mechanism to enforce the restriction.

My suggestion would be to explicitly state the entry restrictions in the event description. Maybe even state that entries from individuals not meeting the stated requirements will be cancelled and no refund offered?

It is possible to setup an event as "hidden" so that it isn't visible by random visitors to the site and can only be accessed by direct link to the event URL. If this is something you'd like to pursue, send an email to support@myautoevents.com after you have listed the event and I'll flag it as hidden.
