Sorry for the delayed response. I must have missed your post last week.
MyAutoEvents.com doesn't specifically automate the process of managing a wait list. The maximum number of entries specified in the event setup is the maximum number of entries allowed - once that limit is reached entrants will not be able to submit new entries. If someone happens to cancel their entry this will automatically open up a spot and allow another entry to be accepted.
However, the maximum entry number is NOT enforced for the registrar. So after the limit is reached, the registrar can manually add any number of additional entries - and assign them to whatever class they see fit, potentially even a class called "Waitlist". Entries added manually by the registrar still count against the entry list count, so if someone cancels it does NOT open up an entry to be available to the general population. In the case of a cancellation, the registrar will receive notice that an entry was canceled and can then re-assign the "Waitlist" entry to a standard class to make the entry official.
I hope that makes sense.
