I'll try to lay this out simply...
Non-SCCA autox club. Events have gotten more popular than our sites can support. (heckuva problem to have, eh?)
Event pre-reg opens 30 days before each event.
Pre-reg consistently FILLS UP within 10 days!
The problem: We don't want our regulars (call them "members", if you will) to not be able to register due to the newbs (we do love them) taking the spots before they get the chance to register.
Any way we can restrict registration to a certain group of people for, say 2 weeks, and then open it up to the public? I'm pretty sure I know the answer is no, but I had to ask.
Other suggestions for how to handle the issue?
(we do use a Perm Number event if that helps... giving just those people priority would be a good solution... then I'd just tell my folks that they need to sign up for a perm number to get priority registration) |

Nice problem to have!
You are correct - currently there is no mechanism available to limit the number of entries by "type" of entrant or give preference like you seek. Entries are processed/accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Do you have a way to communicate to only your club members? The only thing I can suggest is to open registration early and communicate that through your club member communication channel, THEN announce registration is open to the public.
